Senior Accountant

Looking for Senior Accountant in our Conshohocken, PA and Merchantville, NJ offices. Individual at this level should have a minimum of two years' experience as a staff accountant and normally have passed the CPA exam and/or have 150 credit hour education requirements or Master's degree or currently pursuing.

Seniors are expected to:

  • Know and understand the reasons behind the firm's policy and procedures.
  • Process technical knowledge sufficient to supervise staff accountants.
  • Begin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty.

Accounting and Audit engagements:

  • Demonstrate development of a command of GAAP, OCBOA, unique or specialized accounting principles, and financial statement presentations.
  • Obtain a thorough understanding of generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques.
  • Assume responsibility for efficiently supervising both audit and non-audit engagements.

Tax engagements:

  • Begin developing a command of pertinent IRC sections and regulations.
  • Become proficient at tax research, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the firm.
  • Assume responsibility for the supervision of tax return preparation engagements.

Qualifications:

Looking for Staff Accountant in our Conshohocken, PA and Merchantville, NJ offices. Individual at this level should have 1 to 3 years' experience as a staff accountant and normally have college degree with a major in accounting or other related business field.

Staff accountants are expected to:

  • Become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures.
  • Understand professional standards and regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Progress professionally by working toward passing the CPA exam as soon as possible.
  • Begin acquiring the skills necessary to develop quality client relationships and loyalty.

Accounting and Audit engagements:

  • Become familiar with pronouncements of the FASB, AICPA, and when assigned to government engagements, the GAO and GASB.
  • Become proficient at preparing financial statements.
  • Obtain exposure on the types of financial statements offered by the firm.
  • Assume responsibility for unaudited financial statement engagements or segments of audits under the supervision of more experienced staff.

Tax engagements:

  • Become familiar with pertinent IRC sections and regulations.
  • Obtain a working knowledge of research techniques and the various research sources in the firm library.
  • Become proficient in the preparation of corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns prepared by the firm.

Accounting Intern

Accounting Intern positions available in our Conshohocken, PA and Merchantville, NJ offices. Individuals at this level normally have a basic understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation, and are currently pursuing a college degree with either a major in accounting or equivalent accounting and business courses.

Accounting interns are expected to:

  • Become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures.
  • Tax preparation for businesses and individuals
  • Accounting and Audit work under direct supervision of Partners, Managers and Staff Accountants
  • Assist the firm's professional staff in performing controllership and bookkeeping services for clients.
  • Assist the firm's professional staff in entering data for computer applications and preparing workpapers, trial balances, depreciation schedules and engagement correspondence.
  • Some administrative functions such as scanning and entering data may be required

Intern positions are both challenging and rewarding and, with experience and supervision, individuals at this level can assume many of the responsibilities of staff accountants.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing B.S. in Accounting, including 150 credit hour education requirement or Master's degree
  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior college level completion
